A:AnswerIf the food hits the bottom of the downdraft assembly then it is easy to cleanup. But if the food bounces and goes into the fan, welcome to the difficult to clean club. My wife dropped a raw egg down there a month ago. It apparently has evaporated.
A:AnswerYes, I had this done by the installers in my island. They cut the hole in the island further back on the sides by three inches to each side. Caveat: your cooktop space must be big enough to be made significantly bigger. And your under countertop space needs to be big enough also.
