A:Answer Technically the tripod doesn't raise and lower at all. With its ballhead in the upright position, the tripod is 6.5 inches tall. This tripod is meant to hold the camera steady and cling to a variety of surfaces in order to capture selfies. I use the magnetic tipped legs for all sorts of poles and other tall metal structures in the environment that the legs can't wrap around, but the magnetic feet can hold the position in order to get the height I want for images.
