It depends on the electrician and the difficulty (time needed) to install an outlet. Mine was an easy install, and I found an inexpensive self-employed electrician. Ended up costing me about $200 with labor and materials. However, I've seen estimates up to $2,000. So, shop around.

If you need to install a 240V electrical connection and you use a licensed electrician it could be as much as $500. However, based on where you live it could be lower.
