• A:Answer I've had similar problems with the JVC unit as well, but it's when my phone is connected to the unit, either through the wire or bluetooth. If you have your Iphone attached to the unit, make sure that in your bluetooth settings for iPhone, you only have 1 "KW-V830BT" listed and not several. If you have several, delete the ones that you're not using. So far that has seemed to solve my problem.

• A:Answer I set a passcode and it refused to recognize it. Had to send it to United Radio and have them reflash the passcode so I could use it. Not happy.

Q: QuestionWhy would after a year with no problems, would my JVC KW-V940BW stereo start turning off & back on, and at one point the message on the stereo, which was a solid black screen, said to safely pull over & shut the ignition off & turn it back on, didn’t work

• A:Answer I bought a used truck with one of these installed that had this exact problem, I was sure that the wiring was bad and that it would be a big headache to fix. But then I simply reset the radio to factory settings and it has been working like a charm since, just choose the setting that says initialize and you are good to go. I'm not sure what the original owner could have done to cause this issue but my guess would be that he tried to bypass the device's security settings to watch videos while driving. This simple fix 100% worked for me and hopefully it will help someone else out as well.

Q: QuestionHello, I have a 2014 Honda Accord sport and was wondering if I got this installed will my upper screen that views the back up camera, gas mileage etc still work along with the steering wheel controls?

• A:Answer Yes it will still display the car info as before The steering wheel controls for the stereo will not work however unless you purchase a kit to adapt to the stereo. I did not go that route and got used to running the stereo without it. Hope this helps

Q: QuestionHello, I got my Best Buy $299 jack kw-830bt head unit and system installed Friday. I’m having a problem when connected to CarPlay the radio randomly shuts down and restarts. Is this a know problem and do I need to return it to Best Buy?

• A:Answer Unfortunately you cannot bypass this,usually you would have to send it in for service to have them wipe this. It happen to me once I had to send it with my proof of purchase and they covered it because I still had warranty. I would definitely give them a call and find out how to send it for this.

Q: QuestionI have a '14 Mazda 6 which has a joystick/knob for working the current in-dash nav system. Is this system compatible with that or will the joystick pretty much be useless after it's installed?

• A:Answer That joystick will be useless, you can maintain steering wheel controls with the steering wheel module though. I remember searching on that same question a few years back.

Q: QuestionI have tried multiple USB drives, but cannot get the unit to update the firmware. All files downloaded onto Windows 10 desktop, unzipped, and copied to a 2 GB drive. Persistent error message, "No Media Found". BUT USB drive with music plays fine.
