It should NOT void your warranty unless it was found to be the cause of an issue that otherwise would've been covered under the warranty. With that being said it also states that any aftermarket modifications that are made will indeed void the warranty if they are the problem, I'll use this as an example. If you have a warranty and you go and have aftermarket exhaust put on the dealership will have to have unequivocal proof that shows the installed exhaust was the problem, then and only then will your warranty or a portion of it will be voided. If they cannot find any evidence that the installed exhaust was the problem then your warranty is still valid and the dealership is obligated to honor it until it runs out. This is covered by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act which was established in 1975 which ensured that sellers of consumer products clearly state the coverage of warranties. So your best bet would to not hardwire to your car and just use the car plug that way you'll have piece of mind and if something does happen the dealership can't try and blame it on a hardwire issue, because they're known for trying to blame owner for things they've had nothing to do with. This is how I have my dash cam set up right now for the same reason, glad I did to, the motor in my window went and they tried blaming my dash cam until I told them it's not hardwired and they should find the real problem.
