Similar to other household appliances, Keurig coffee makers require basic maintenance in order to keep them clean and functioning properly. The water reservoir should be cleaned weekly by wiping it with a damp, soapy, lint-free, non-abrasive cloth and rinsing thoroughly. It should not be placed in the dishwasher. Descaling regularly removes mineral build up that can affect taste and quality, ensuring your coffee maker brews a perfect cup, every time. Depending on the mineral content of your water, calcium deposits or scale may build up in your brewer. Scale is non-toxic but if left unattended can hinder brewer performance. Regularly descaling your brewer every 3 months helps maintain the heating element, and other internal parts that come in contact with water. Please feel free to visit the support page on our website for helpful tips and videos on how to descale your brewer properly.
