“I have a K575 I knocked off the counter once (looks all beat up but it still works). I would like to replace it with a newer model but I need to know if the new ones have that stupid optical sensor that makes sure you use "genuine" K-Cups.”

Actually you can use your own coffee with the k cup you can buy as a accessories..this one does not have that sensor...

Not sure what "genuine" K-Cups are, but I used Walmart brand "Donut Shop" and "Hot Milk Chocolate" with no issues.

This will use any kcup. Keurig to walmart's great value brand.

You are not limited to brewing only Keurig pods in the K-Elite coffee maker. However, we recommend brewing with our Keurig branded K-Cup pods to help ensure your beverage tastes its best. Thank you for reaching out.
