4 ohm vs 2ohm is 100% dependant on the amplfier you put on the subwoofer. If your amplifier can handle 2 ohms then get a 2ohm subwoofer. The sound of a 4ohm vs 2ohm is not any different.. You will only increase wattage if the amplifier can drop to 2 ohms....

Please try again later.Its best to size accordingly to what your amp specifications are. 2 ohm is more efficient and will require an amp that can handle it as it will require more power. Look at your amp manual and see what it will handle rms and peak for both 2 ohm and 4 ohm. Then buy a speaker that matches those specifications. 2 ohm will provide more power if it has an amp to drive it. Sound quality will depend on both amp and speaker specifications based on frequency response and noise. Your amp/amps need to be tuned properly. If you don't match the speaker and amp properly you could cause severe damage to both and even catch your amp on fire. Reading the manuals is very important and will contain all the information necessary to give you optimum performance.
