It happened usually because your payment card error, I have met this problem once with BestBuy, cause I preordered a game very long time ago, and when BestBuy tried to charge from my credit card, my credit card denied the charge because it took too long for this transaction to finish. You should get an email before BestBuy cancelled your order, basically asked you to change a payment method.
