• Yes. i called Kitchenaid with the same question. They found in the manual that the size will work by lowering the bottom to the floor without the 4 little pillars and if needed, pare down the insulation above. My unit was installed at 34.5 inches and fits and looks fine.

• Yes, max is 34.5 but it can go down to 33.5. The dishwasher itself can be lower or riser!!
