A:Answer That's exactly how it works... your MacBook, iMac, etc. wirelessly (via BlueTooth) connects to the subwoofer (which is plugged into an electrical outlet). The "master" speaker (with the volume control) is plugged into the subwoofer, as well as to the other remote speaker. I have these speakers, and I am very pleased with them... they sound phenomenal... but with that being said, they've "disconnected" on me (on my iMac) twice within the past couple of weeks. I had to unplug the power cord (to reset them).
