QuestionCan these be used as surround speakers?I have a Black Friday opportunity to purchase these at a great price. I was considering the Surround R-14S, but those are never on sale. Am I making a big mistake using these bookshelf speakers instead?

- Answer You could use them as surround speakers, but they're probably a little bigger than most, and highly-capable speakers. There's a smaller-sized Klipsch bookshelf (I forget the model number), that might be better-suited for surround speakers.

QuestionIt seems as though I can use these as front left and right to complete a 7.1 system that I'm creating with a 12" klipsch for bass and the klipsch quintet for the rest of the speakers. Will these 51/4's work with the rest to make a good 7.1 system?

QuestionWall MountingHas anyone tried to wall mount these? If so I was wondering how you went about it since they don't seem (per the picture) to have a wall mount bracket?

- Answer I have not yet, but have considered it and still might. They are not large...but they aren't small either. If mounting to a wall, look for side-clamping wall mounts. There are several available and will do just fine. They won't be hidden, but they will be up off the floor and adjustable. They do not come with a bracket and do NOT have screw holes in them where you can screw it into a stand or a mount...that's why I'd suggest a side-clamping wall mount.

- Answer These speakers are exactly 12.5" tall, and the stick on rubber feet will add another 3/16". The front grill however is rounded at the top and extends another 3/8" past the top of the speaker. So if you use the feet and install the grill, the top of the grill will be exactly 13 1/16" tall.

QuestionHow far away from the wall do they have to be ?

- Answer As these Klipsch bookself speakers are of bass reflex design and the port is rearward facing, giving them some distance from the wall is desirable for better sound quality. However, I am using mine as rear surrounds and I have them angled inward and only 8 inches to the port from my rear wall. They sound great and the bass for their size is excellent with no objectionable issues. I have a 110 watt/channel @ 8 ohm 7 channel Onkyo Atmos receiver and these little Klipsch speakers can handle some serious volume without distortion. As long as you don't put them directly up against your wall, I don't think you will have any acoustic problems.

- Answer Yes. I do it with my MacBook Pro every day. You will need a cable and a 2-channell Receiver minimum. I chose items below. Working very well and sound is astounding! With two of those cables, you can also hook up your iPod, iPad through their headphone jacks.

QuestionWould these speakers be good enough to replace my 20yr + old speakers that are floor standing and have 10inch subs in them?I am trying to downsize and use them mostly for movies, tv & video games only rarely do I play music on them, I have a denon amp.

- Answer These won't give you high and lows like floor speakers it will give you highs and your subwoof will make up for the lows these are better for sides and rears

- Answer Klipsch does make a powered bluetooth version (Klipsch R-15PM) so you should be able to connect your phone via bluetooth. However the R15M I have are not powered so I use an amp.

QuestionOne of the speakers sound keeps going in and out from normal volume or very quite, somestimes sound never even shows up. When I turn on my reciver the the stylus hangs above the recrord the speaker makes a loud buzzing sound. What should I do?

- Answer I dont see why not, Should work just fine, these only have 2 binding posts of course..Not 4. A lot of Preamp guys like the 4 post speakers but those speakers usually have a lot more drivers in them

QuestionIf I replace my damaged Klipsch surround speaker (pictured) with one of these (I'd actually swap both of my existing front Klipsch right/left speakers for these bookshelf speakers), would the sound be balanced? My Denon receiver has a good auto-setup.

- Answer Don't see photo of your damaged surround but in my application, these bookshelf speakers along with new matched center Klipsch matched up well with existing Klipsch floor standing RF3 and eliminated set up errors with new Yamaha receiver. Separation and sound was much improved after setup even though speakers being replaced were more than adequate with older Yamaha receiver (replaced due to damage).
