You need to plug the USB could into the electrical adapter for electricity to power up the machine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The usb connection and wall plug adapter is multi purpose. Plug the Scanza into the wall plug for power and the Scanza saves the photos to the memory card. This is a stand alone operation. When done scanning, unplug unit from wall socket. Pull usb end from wall socket adapter and plug it into USB port on your computer. The computer gives the Scanza power. The backload you photos to your computer. Create a directory just for the photos. NOTE: the jpg files are numbered numerically. You will have to rename the files after you copy them to your computer. While on your computer, I suggest clearing/deleting the files on the Scanza. Then when you scan again the Scanza has a new batch of photos to move to the computer. Always create a new director for your new batch of photos. Easier to manage. I personally have scanned 40 carousels (80 slides each) and 400 plus strips of film. NOTE: Easy renaming - use legal tablet, go thru directory one slide at a time and note what it is (example: Year-subject-etc. NOTE: keep in mind actual file name needs to be keep short and no periods. Periods are Only Used between the Name and Format name. Have fun scanning.
