The process works like this. You must insert an SD card into the scanner for it to process your work. As you scan your slides (if it is slides) you will save them onto the inserted SD card. Yes, the scanner will connect to a Windows 10 PC/Laptop. BUT, per the instuctions, that will only be for your computer to access the SD card in the scaner to upload saved digitized pictures from the SD card to the computer. Scanning/saving additional slides while connected to your computer will not function. You must disconnect from your computer to resume that process. So far, I've only saved to SD card. I've not connected to computer using the USB cable that came with scanner. And, since my computer has a SD slot, I may use that slot instead of connecting. The scanning/digitizing of a slide (saving onto a SD card) is very fast. Takes only seconds. I like how quickly I can do a tray of 140 slides. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You have to scan to the memory card first. Use the cord that plugs into the wall socket (it comes apart into a usb) and attach the usb end to the Laptop or pc. The Scanza Settings has the USB Upload selection that connects to your laptop. Then you can backload your files. The file naming is in numerical order. You can rename your files on the computer only. After you backload the files you can delete them from the memory can as a group. If you wish to delete the files using the Scanza it will be one at a time. The Scanza can flip, rotate, and there settings that are very useful. Play with it to learn these settings. The instruction book had a wealth of info.
