I don't know about the bathroom, I would think so as long as it does not get wet or filled with steam. As far as pets are concerned, it does not have a "knock over" safety feature that I am aware of. It blows out warm air but no where near as much as a fan hitting, it's quite comfortable.

Using a high voltage unit in a wet or damp location can pose the risk of electrical shock which is the primary concern. Secondly, using the heater in a setting such as a bathroom can lead to oxidation of the heater and can lead to failure.
