  • QuestionWhen would you need the Lectron adaptor pictured above vs the other one that is longer and the max current is only 40A

    Asked by LectronQuestion.

    • Answer The Lectron with the cable portion is their older product, and looks/works like the TeslaTap. The Lectron you are asking about is their newer Lectron Mini. I am shopping for an adapter as well so I don't yet have a personal confirmation for you, but from what I have learned: Both of these will work for a Tesla home or Tesla Destination charger to a J1772 EV/PEV. Get the Lectron cable one if you have a Tesla home charger and are charging non-Teslas (can leave it on). Get the Lectron Mini if you are situationally charging from Tesla chargers. Good luck!

  • QuestionDoes this charger work with 2024 bmw i5 at supercharger stations

    Asked by Bucky.

    • Answer No, the Lectron Tesla to J1772 EV Charger Adapter will not work with a 2024 BMW i5 at Tesla Supercharger stations. The Lectron Tesla to J1772 Adapter is designed to connect Tesla Destination Chargers and Tesla Wall Connectors to J1772 EVs like the BMW i5. However, it does not support Tesla Superchargers (which use high-voltage DC fast charging).

  • QuestionIs this compatible with a Honda Prologue? So Honda Prologue would be able to charge at Tesla stations?

    Asked by Des.

    • Answer The Vortex Plug is specifically designed to enable charging for all compatible non-Tesla EVs at Tesla Superchargers. However, we recommend checking with your vehicle manufacturer for any updates or permissions regarding access to Supercharger networks. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to let us know.

  • QuestionWill it work with jeep 4xe?

    Asked by GeekSquad.

    • Answer The Lectron Tesla to J1772 EV Charger Adapter allows a J1772 vehicle to use Tesla charging stations (Tesla Wall Connectors or Destination Chargers, not Superchargers). Since the Jeep 4xe uses a J1772 connector, the adapter should work with it, allowing you to charge your Jeep 4xe at Tesla Wall Connectors or Destination Chargers. Keep in mind that Tesla Superchargers will not be compatible, as the adapter doesn't support charging at Superchargers.

  • QuestionCan I charge DC voltage with this adapter

    Asked by Jose.

    • Answer No, the Lectron Tesla to J1772 EV Charger Adapter is designed only for AC charging and does not support DC fast charging. This adapter allows J1772 electric vehicles to use Tesla AC destination chargers, Tesla wall connectors, and Tesla mobile connectors—but not Tesla Superchargers, which provide DC power.

  • QuestionHi! Does this work for the porsche taycan? i believe that is also a j1772 charging connection. Thank you!

    Asked by Merch.

    • Answer The Porsche Taycan does not use a J1772 charging connection. Instead, it has a CCS (Combo) port for DC fast charging and a Type 2 (Mennekes) port for AC charging in most markets, including the U.S. The Lectron Tesla to J1772 Adapter allows J1772 EVs (like Chevy Bolt, Ford Mustang Mach-E, etc.) to charge at Tesla Destination Chargers and Tesla Wall Connectors (not Superchargers). However, the Taycan is not compatible with this adapter because it does not use J1772 for charging.
