A:AnswerInstall the main tv mount first and then fit your concealer box after. You have a little less room to work with, but at least you know it is positioned in the right spot.
A:AnswerYes. It's a standard 120v male plug. Whatever cord you use does need to extend straight out on the female end because the bottom outlet is in a recess.
A:AnswerIf your wall has the horizontal 2x4s you mention (firebreaks) you will have to choose another location to run the wire or cut a hole in the fire break to run the cord and any cables. This will require removing some drywall to drill the hole then replacing it, mudding it, texturing it and painting. This is not a difficult task.
A:AnswerWe had 2 installed by Geek Squad a couple weeks ago. One interior and one exteror wall. They just said on exterior walls there may be firestopping material half way down the wall that makes install more tricky. Ours is older and didnt have the stopping. They just said if it is there it requires more holes in wall to get their way behind the firstopping. So yes, it can be installed on exterior. Just might be little harder.
A:AnswerBelow is a link to the installation guide. The cutout dimensions needed are 5.38" W x 7.13" H for the larger top cutout, and 2.25" W x 3.75" H for the smaller bottom cutout. Hope this helps!

A:AnswerMy previous answer had a typo in it...this unit is between 3 and 3 1/2 inches deep. I do not think it would work with a wall less than 2x4 construction.
