The A8 is equivalent to a 4th gen i3. The A8 gets a score of 6.3 on CPU Boss, while the i3 gets a 6.4. You won't really notice the difference unless you use benchmarking programs. The A8 is quad core, while the i3 is dual core. The i3 supports hyper-threading, the A8 does not.
