    Asked by luislast.

    • Answer Greetings from the Intel team. Thank you for your question. Based on the product specifications reference (PSREF), the Lenovo Flex 5i model 82R700L4US has 8GB soldered LPDDR4x-4266 and a 256GB SSD M.2 2242 drive; the RAM is not upgradable as it soldered to the system; however, the storage capacity can be increased as the Laptop supports one drive, up to 1TB M.2 2242 SSD or 512GB M.2 2280 SSD. For further information, check the PSREF: https://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/IdeaPad_Flex_5_14IAU7?M=82R700L4US For detailed information about the Intel® Core™ i3-1215U processor, visit: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/226263/intel-core-i3-1215u-processor-10m-cache-up-to-4-40-ghz.html Thank you for choosing Intel! • QuestionDoes this laptop have a disc tray?

    Asked by Kaekae.

    • Answer No. There are a number of reasons why internal optical drives are largely unavailable, though they can still be found, mostly (but not exclusively) in "hardened" laptops that look (and weigh) like bricks and are used in construction, emergency situations, and the military. There are a number of reasons for this: 1. Modern laptops (and desktops) are pushing to be smaller and weigh less, with many companies advertising their computers as “ultra thin” or “easily portable.” Optical drives significantly add weight (about half a pound) and bulk (12 cm diameter) 2. Even Blu-ray discs top out at 128 GB, far below either HDDs or SSDs on a per-centimeter basis. 3. With the advent of cheap flash storage, fast network connectivity, cloud storage, software distributed via the Internet, and USB 3.0 (and now USB 3.2, doubling the raw link speed to 20 Gbps), integrated optical drives have largely become obsolete. As mentioned in the other reply, should you need an optical drive, they are still available, at a modest cost, as external, portable units.

  • QuestionAre you able to split your screen on this device?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Yes, but how you would do it depends on what you mean by "split." For instance, you can have Explorer and Adobe Reader running at the same time, and both visible, by moving and resizing one to the top or left half, and the other to the bottom or right half, respectively. Another way would be to connect an external monitor, then use the key combination "Windows+P" (the Windows key and the "P" letter key. to create a duplicate, additional, or extension view of the laptop's screen to the external monitor.

  • QuestionWhy won't my camera show a picture? I've tried trouble shooting and ot still doesn't work. I just purchased this 8/12/24.

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hey there, sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your camera. To add to the troubleshooting, this model ships with a webcam that has a manual Privacy Shutter built in. Be sure the Privacy Shutter is completely open before trying to use the webcam or the webcam will not operate. There is a small slider, directly above the webcam lens. Move the tab to the right to open the Privacy Shutter. There is a red dot over the webcam lens that will disappear when the Privacy Shutter is fully open. This will indicate that the webcam is really to use. You can close the Privacy Shutter when you are done with the webcam for your security, by sliding the tab to the left to close the Privacy Shutter. The Red Dot will appear over the webcam lens when the Privacy Shutter is closed. If your camera is still not functional, we recommend checking for updates through Windows Update settings and Lenovo Vantage (should you no longer be in S mode). If your issues persist after these steps, we also recommend that you reach out to Lenovo Support here: 877-453-6686, for additional assistance.

  • QuestionWhat's the average battery life?

    Asked by Jake.

    • Answer To sum up the other reply, "Your mileage will vary." Many factors go into battery measurement. To get the most accurate estimate, I suggest you look for reviews published by the various trade magazines, which will give you the circumstances under which they took measurements, as well as comparing it to other units in the same price range and/or from the same manufacturer.
