It's LED backlit. Just like every other LED TV and Monitor made in the last decade. They used to use fluorescent light tubes to backlight monitors before LEDs became cheap enough. Don't mistake it for OLED or any other type of display (qled, microled etc). This is a normal...relatively thick...computer monitor with a high refresh rate and a slight curve.
