• A:Answer The touchscreen feature on the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 Laptop, model number 81WE00NKUS should work automatically, as soon as you turn the computer on. Even before you initially activate and setup the Windows 10 S-Mode Operating System on the computer. If the touchscreen is not working on your model, first, Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. Q: QuestionI just configured new laptop. But speakers not working but headphones do. Although it says drivers and settings are fine but no sound on speakers even after reinstalling sound drivers. Is this a known issue and what is the resolution?

• A:Answer We are sorry to hear that your are having issues with the system audio within your Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 Laptop, model number 81WE00NKUS. First, be sure the system speakers are not on Mute. Tap the HotKey in the F1 position on your keyboard to unmute the system speakers, then tap the F3 HotKey to increase system speaker volume. If this does not fix the issue, check the system speaker configuration. To resolve this, go to the Windows taskbar and right-click the speaker icon, select Open Sound Settings and enter audio preferences. In the Output section, click Manage Sound Devices. Select the Output device and click the Test button. Try for each of the audio devices you see until you hear audio. Q: QuestionI have heard switching out of S mode will slow down the operating system. Does the link / instructions help to get around that problem. It should be made clear when you are ordering that you are limited to S mode (my item: Lenovo IdeaPad 3 w/ i5).

• A:Answer The internal battery is not user replaceable. A certified technician will need to replace the battery. If your laptop is currently not charging, it is possible that restoring the computer back to original factory settings will also reset the internal battery. Here is a link to information about creating Recovery Media within Windows 10: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-a-recovery-drive-abb4691b-5324-6d4a-8766-73fab304c246. Additionally, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 Laptop, model number 81WE00NKUS, is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the right side of the device, right in between the headphone jack and the SD card slot on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.
