• You will need an adapter for the laptop. It has either a Micro or Mini HDMI port, you will need an adapter to convert the smaller laptop port to a full size HDMI port. • i dont have this monitor but it sounds like you have a micro HDMI port on your lenovo laptop (i have the same type of hdmi port on my lenovo)......you will probably need a micro HDMI male to HDMI male connector hope this helps....

• Most likely your laptop has a mini display port, aka thunderbolt. My Lenovo laptop has one. There are adaptors (costing $12) allow you to connect to this monitor.

• it's possible its not an HDMI? HDMI has only one size from what I know. Chances are that it just looks small. However, the monitor does come with an HDMI and VGA cable. Hope this somewhat helps you!
