QuestionCan I hook up a second monitor to it using an HDMI?

- Answer No. The Lenovo S345-14 model number 81WX0000UX has a USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 port on the right side of the device for power only and another USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 port on the right side with Video-Out capability. To connect an HDMI monitor, you would need a USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 to HDMI adapter.

- Answer You can use an external USB CD/DVD drive with a Chromebook. There are some major limitations to using a Chromebook external DVD or CD drive. External devices are limited as to storage of readable files, and music or movie files are not, without drivers, which cannot be installed on a Chromebook.

Yes on the Lenovo Chromebook S345 model 81WX0000UX You may access the Google Play store with the included app or through the web browser by going to the address https://play.google.com/ . If the 3rd party software is available on the Play Store you can download the App on the Lenovo Chromebook.

- Answer Yes. The Lenovo S345-14 Chromebook has dual microphones built in. Here is a link to instructions for activating the webcam and microphone on a Chromebook, also be sure that when using video conference software, that you activate both the webcam and microphone through the video conferencing software. There will be a "mute button" for the microphone and a privacy black for the webcam within the conferencing software: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2693767?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en. Google Docs is completely compatible with Microsoft Office Programs and this is a free service through the Google Server. If you must have the actual Microsoft Office Programs, you can purchase Microsoft Office 365 for this Chromebook at the Google Play Store.

You can use any external mouse that is compatible with the Chrome Operating System. The S345-14 Chromebook does ship with a built in touchpad that functions as an external mouse would.
