I've never seen the value in having a 2 in 1, it feels more like a gimmick that I'll only use once or twice. That said, this is my second laptop I've used with a touch screen and I can't go back. The touch screen is way faster when you have the laptop on your lap, not to mention it's really helpful when you're helping someone else with their computer. Multiple times I've been sitting next to my mom with her Mac, trying to show her how to get to something, and tapped on the screen forgetting that it isn't touch. It's a really small feature for lazy people, but I think really useful regardless of whether or not it's a 2 in 1.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. All just preference. I have a convertible w/ touch screen but use it in laptop mode 90% of the time and I use the touch screen about 40% of the time to interface with it depending on what I'm doing. I find touching the screen can be the quicker more convenient option at times.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Definitely not useless. In fact, it's fantastic if you are reading/scrolling through lots of text. It's extremely natural to soft of lightly hold the back of the display with your four fingers and use your thumb on the screen to scroll. It's particularly good for reading in bed, also. If you're lying on your back, you can prop the screen back 180 degrees, sort of put it on your lap and use the method I just described. The screen will be high enough so that you're not craning your neck down to look at it, and the experience is, once again, just very easy and natural. I don't care much if a laptop is a 2-in-1, but I will only buy touchscreen laptops these days.
