I agree with you. Lenovo seems to be playing a bit fast and loose with this standard, since the screen is rated at FHD+ (1920 x 1200), but 2k should be 2560 x 1440.

It is typically used when referring to the motion picture industry, as many films are projected at this standard. These resolutions are defined by the Digital Cinema Initiatives, or DCI, a governing body comprised of major motion picture studios. The 1920x1200 resolution is considered as 2K, as the horizontal resolution (number of pixels across the display) meets the parameters to fall under the 2K umbrella.
