This is the loudest fan I have ever heard. I Have gone to all the forums and even contacted Lenovo Tech SUpport - but I have found no way to fix it. Apparently Lenovo has neutered the Advance Power mgt options in windows that normally would let you adjust the CPU usage, so even just browsing the web the fan runs on high as if you were using all the advanced Photoshop features imaginable. It is so loud, that you would never even try to play music much less concentrate. A poor purchase on my part. Beware.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I actually came on here to search why my fan is making so much noise. I just bought my Lenovo about two months ago because I am in graduate school for interior design and architecture, and I needed a good computer for rendering and running BIM programs. I absolutely love the design and function of this desktop computer. however, it started making loud fan noises when I try to run a program like Revit or SketchUp. I specifically bought this computer because I was told that it can handle the programs I use, but I'm not so sure and I am a bit concerned since it was a lot of money! Sometimes, the fan gets so loud and super fast that I step away because I'm nervous it'll explode. If anyone is dealing with a similar problem or has a suggestion please let me know! I'm doing remote learning now and even during zoom or google meets, the fan will go crazy, please help if you can! Thank you!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Generally, no. Occasionally it revs up and I hear it for a few minutes when there’s a lot going on, but it subsides quickly. I’ve been happy with the low noise factor......something that influenced my decision to return a couple of different models.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it can be, ive noticed when running Photoshop and manioulating or moving around larger images. However I do feel its possible tweaking some PS settings might alleviate some of this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.it is insanely loud. Additionally I get error messages saying the computer is overheating. It literally sounds like a plane taking off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the fan can act up at times and become incredibly noisy when you're playing games. It doesn't last long tho. Aside from that for other uses, the fan is relatively quiet
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.i have a lenovo C740 -- the fan is unbearably noisy and it ruins my video calls. Also the combo microphone headphone jack doesn't work with apple earphones, may not work with other combos either. The keyboard also has a bad layout. I do not recommend.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes the fan will be noisy at times. Also please note, that this system uses (Modern Standby Mode) Otherwise known as sleep mode S0. So most of your power options are turned off in the registry. You can change this to suit your needs by changing registry settings. (Google it). So because of the the computer will really always be on and will sleep in a low state. But because of this state and the fact you can't change the performance setting with power tabs, most of the time the computer is in high performance mode. Which is what you should want because this is not a laptop. -)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Yoga A940 ships with the powerful Six-Core/Twelve-Thread 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8700 processor for intelligent, ultrafast performance. Combined with powerful AMD Radeon RX560 discrete graphics, this all-in-one PC delivers lightning-fast responsiveness whether you’re editing or creating content. It will generate heat whenever it is turned on, even at idle, this is normal. The onboard fan will maintain the proper operating temperature for the device. You will hear the fan whenever it runs, this too is normal.
