There are two easy options to upgrade storage. The first is to use a Micro SD card. By going this route, you can easily add storage capacity in a way that is compact and portable.. The second option is to add an external USB hard drive. I own this Chromebook and have been blown away by its blazing fast performance speed! Solid state hard drives do not have the large storage capacity of older hard disk drives, but they make up for in speed, smaller size and lower weight.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I purchased a 512gb PNY micro sdcard from Best Buy. It works great. The only problem is that when I use the Linux (Beta); I have to copy files from the micro sdcard to the Linux mount for the linux apps to read the files. Hopefully Chrome OS and Linux (Beta) Debian 8 and 9.5 will take care of this with build 74 or an upgrade or update to "Stretch". The micro sdcard is a very quick fix. If I could have afforded the 1tb micro, I would have thru that in.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, the eMMC memory is soldered to the motherboard. You can use an external USB-based hard drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I agree with the other comments,Chromebooks are supposed to be cloud based units. you have the right set-up you never need any additional storage.
