The manual recommends it. But I use tap water and it's been fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Vinny, No, it does not require distilled water. You can use regular tap water, or we have a water filter system that we use to fill the Levoit Humidifier. It probably would last longer if you did use distilled water, as there are less minerals that can accumulate on the mist system. Mark.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. From the instruction manual yes. I recommend you get a filtered water pitcher. I purchased the 22 cup Zero Water pitcher from Walmart for around $20 since it had the best reviews and love it. I bought some gallon jugs and fill them up. Purchasing distilled water gallons can add up. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My understanding it does not. From my use and experience, soft or filtered water will keep the machine cleaner and easier to maintain
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We recommend using distilled water with our humidifiers. As another alternative, purified or filtered water will be slightly better than tap water.
