“Will Oblio sanitize a phone that does not have wireless charging and how do you know if it is sanitizing? Literature and manuals do not say anything about whether functions are independent or whether it will only sanitize when charging wirelessly.”

You know its sanitizing because the UV light is on (glows purple). We have LG Stylo 4 and 5 phones in our house. Both seem to trigger the sterilizing function when dropped in without their external add on charging coil and with out an external case With a protective case on neither phone trigger sanitizing light and its intermittent whether the phones charge when they have an after market charging coil inside the case My feeling is that thickness and materials used in the external case cause too large an airgap for reliable operation. Maybe better charging coils and thinner cases will solve the issues or simply a phone built for wireless charging

The functions work independently. As long as your phone fits inside of the OBLIO, it can be sanitized.
