It works just fine. All you have to do is press time, then input the length of time you want it to run (if you press the one for one minute, it will only run for one second. You have to enter as: 100, if only two digits are pressed, it will run for that many seconds.) Then you can press the power level button and then select a number from 1 - 9, then press the start. (1 being 10% of the total power output of the microwave, ect, all the way up to 9 being 90% of the microwave power.)I hope this helps.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi there! Thank you for your question. The LG MVEM1721F Over-the-Range Microwave has 10 power levels that allow you to adjust the intensity of the microwave's heat. The power level works by adjusting the microwave's magnetron (the component that generates microwave energy) to different intensities. Each power level corresponds to a percentage of the microwave's maximum power output (1000W). For example: Power Level 10 (100%) is the highest setting for full power, typically used for quick cooking or boiling. Power Level 5 (50%) is a medium heat for more delicate tasks like reheating. Power Level 1 (10%) would be the lowest setting for defrosting or gentle warming. You can select the desired power level by adjusting the settings on the microwave’s control panel. https://www.lg.com/us/cooking-appliances/lg-mvem1721f-over-the-range-microwave#pdp_specs If you need help with specific functions or settings, feel free to send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport, and we’d be happy to assist you further! —Renzo
