The WM1388HW is a standalone unit and can be paired with whatever dryer is preferred. It does not require connection to the dryer. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The LG washer, 1388HW which I have, can be used alone, sitting on floor, by itself. It is simply a Quality Washer. I did change my mind and purchased a standalone Dryer. A Panda 3.75 cu ft Dryer. Both the washer(LG) and the dryer(Panda) use regular, ordinary 110-120v electric plugs. The dryer needs to be (hot air) vented out a window. When in use, washing or drying, use either appliance on the circuit by itself while in use.
