The type of Stainless Steel that is magnetic is what is referred to as Ferritic Stainless Steel which has a higher content of iron (as the name suggests) and that is magnetic. The type that is used on the doors of the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 20 cu. ft 30" Wide Top Freezer Refrigerator with Ice Maker, Model # LTCS20220S and commonly used in most refrigerators is called Austenitic Stainless Steel and has a high resistance to corrion and oxidation but it is not magnetic so magnets will not stick to it.
