According to LG, the ice maker is already installed in the refrigerator, from the factory. If you currently have a water line running from the cold water pipe to a previous refrigerator, then all you need to do is reconnect the line to the water line attachment point, on the back of the fridge. Usually, if you have the unit delivered by Best Buy, the delivery folks will plug in the new refrigerator, and hook up the water line, if there is one already there. However, if you do not currently have a water like running to the rear of the refrigerator, the delivery guys will not install one for you. You will have to get a licensed plumber, or someone who is extremely adept in plumbing work to tap into the cold water pipe, install a shut-off valve, and run a length of, preferably, copper tubing to the rear of the refrigerator. Tubing installation kits are sold at Best Buy or home center stores, in the Appliance department. If that work is to be done, be sure to have at least six feet of tubing behind the refrigerator to allow it to be pulled away from the wall, when the area is in need of cleaning.
