Located on the pull out freezer shelf. I didn’t think it was worth it, unless you go though a lot of ice in your family. I have a family of 3. Me & my 2 kids (10 & 12). The single one comes with a bucket in the pullmoit shelf where you can dump it manually & the ice maker makes ice pretty fast. It is a convenience thing for a 2nd ice maker - depends on your lifestyle. The one that has 1 ice maker, the bucket is removable.
