A gallon or two of milk, yes. But, not several gallons. Here is what I said on this topic in my full review: The tempered glass shelves are so wide (there is no divider. they span across the entire width of fridge), that they bow significantly under weight. OK to put a gallon jug on each side closest to the rail support. But, you will get bowing if placed in center. I put qty 8 gallon jugs on the bottom shelf with no problem. But, this is also my beer fridge. So, what I did was created support "beams" that integrated the middle glass shelf with the top glass shelf so the weight of all the beer bottles was distributed between the two shelves to eliminate (or at least drastically reduce) the bow of the top shelf. Pic attached for reference. LG should beef-up the thickness on the shelves or another alternative to add much more rigidity to them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The shelves in the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 4 cu. ft. Large Capacity 33” Wide Bottom Freezer Refrigerator, Model # LDCS24223S are SpillProtector™ Tempered Glass shelves. Although there isn't an official weight limit or rating for the weight capacity on refrigerator shelves, they can hold a lot more than what a gallon of milk weighs. A gallon container weighs 8 lbs and a full-width shelf can hold 6 of them, but you should not exceed 50 lbs...^IFV

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, we store our gallon milk on the top shelf.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Glass bottom shelf has been strong enough to hold 2 gallons of milk and 2 gallons of water and 1 gallon of juice. We also put gallon jugs in refrigerator door with no problem. Haven't tried gallon jugs on other shelves, but have stored 2 liter jugs laying down on upper shelves and it works fine.
