I haven’t had it long enough for the filter to be changed. My plan is to go with the recommended filter from LG.

It’s important to replace the water filter every 6 months to ensure clean and fresh water. To make sure you're using the right filter and not exceeding the recommended period, we recommend only using LG Brand filters. Non-LG Brand filters or expired filters are not covered under warranty and may cause issues with your refrigerator’s water system.
