It depends on whether you already have a refrigerator water line. If you're just replacing refrigerators, already have a refrigerator water line attached to your old unit, have a wrench and smallest diy ability, you can do it yourself and save the money. When I remodeled my kitchen, I made sure the water line was put inside a utility box behind my refrigerator cabinet, so for me it was a quick shut off, adjustable wrench take old one out and put new one in. I think the water line coming out of the LG already had the standard brass fitting, otherwise I would have just cut off and reused the brass fitting from my old refrigerator. Best Buy charges installation fee (don't know how much, because I knew I wouldn't need them installing the fridge).
