There is a small joy stick under the LG logo on the front of the monitor. You have to put your finger under that spot, you will feel a small joy stick which can be used to turn the monitor off. This is how you can turn off that annoying message about the input cables. This joy stick can be used for the input selector for the monitor as well as a menu for the monitor.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As I recall this kept happening to me, and I was annoyed. However, once I used the "joystick button" (under the LG logo) to acknowledge the message, the message had not recurred. IMHO it would be great if LG would include this instruction in their "quick start" instructions and manual.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I AM USING THE SUPPLIED CABLE! I have had a lot of problems with this monitor. It's nice when it works, but it won't resume from power saving mode and turning off power saving doesn't turn it off. It also collapses all open windows in the upper-left corner of the screen. I have searched and cannot find a solution. LG says the monitor I have doesn't exist, even though it really does exist. I am looking at it right now! I really couldn't recommend an LG monitor. The image quality is great, but the company is disinclined to solve problems with their monitors. I am a very dissatisfied customer!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am no expert, but my guess would be that the monitor is prompting you to utilize it at a potential 5k. The only cable that has this ability is the supplied DisplayPort cable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine too....but using the monitor for a month and it seems to have no consequences. Interestingly, when I had less than 4k resolution...the same message screen told me the resolution. when I got 4k on the screen it reverts to this message.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had this same issue when I used the supplied cables and my MacBook computer. I was able to hit the 'ignore' / 'stop informing me about this' and then the message went away and never came back. I agree that it is odd, but given that it does not impact day-to-day performance of the device I simply ignored it as I really liked the monitor and could not find another with the same aesthetics and specifications at this price point.
