Believe me, you are not clueless! We had a DTV tech come and connect ours. You might have figured it out by now, but if not, call DTV for help.

If it has RCA Outputs (i.e. Red/White/Yellow) ports, then you can connect your Red/White/Yellow RCA cable (aka Composite cable or A/V cable) to the RCA inputs on the TV, but check to make sure that the RCA ports on your DirecTV are outputs, not inputs. If you look at the ports on the back of the LG 28 inch Class HD TV (27.5'' Diag), Model # 28LM400B-PU, you will notice that from left to right, they are color coded as Half Green/Half Yellow (Y), Blue (Pb), Red (Pr) then White, Red (L/Mono-Audio R). Plug the Yellow RCA plug from your cable into the half green/half yellow (Y) port, then plug the White/Red plug into the corresponding ports labeled (L/Mono-AudioR). The best and easiest way to connect your set top box to the TV that will give you the best picture is to connect the HDMI Out on your set top box, if it has one, to either HDMI In on the TV...^IFV...^IFV
