It is 100% compatible. I purchased them for my SP8YA. The rear speakers never prompted me to join my Wifi network. I turned them on and they instantly connected to the soundbar.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, these speakers are definitely, absolutely 100% compatible. I just connected them last night to my SP8YA Sound Bar. The person that said they are not is in fact wrong! It even says on the box of the SP8YA these rear speakers are compatible!

I previously purchased the SP8YA on June 3rd 2022 when Best Buy had a sale- i purchased these speakers(SPK8-S) today June 10th 2022 as simple as unbox-plug in-connection took less than 3 minutes as for the other buyer stating no hook up subwoofer wow really ?? stupid is as stupid does so in short SPK8-S IS COMPATIBLE with SP8YA it took longer to unbox and wall mount then the connection-game changing combo SOUNDS AMAZING WITH DOBY ATMOS!!!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.NO ADDITIONAL SPEAKERS POSSIBLE The responses to this question are inaccurately answered. I just purchased this soundbar, SP8YA, on 6/22/21. Both the manual and the shipping box states that the unit is compatible with additional speakers except the shipped subwoofer does NOT have the terminals to connect the additional speakers. I placed a call to LG support 800-243-0000 and they confirmed that there is no connection for additional speakers.
