HDMI. TV's are so affordable at Best Buy! Always ask them if they have what you're looking for with an "opened box," you can save A LOT of money that way!

If your TV doesn’t have an optical audio output (or optical "TOSLINK" port), you have a couple of options to still get the audio connected to an external sound system: If your TV has an HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) port, you can use an HDMI to HDMI ARC cable to connect your TV to your sound system. HDMI ARC allows both video and audio to flow through the same cable, simplifying the connection. If your TV only has a 3.5mm headphone jack, you can use a 3.5mm to RCA cable (the red and white connectors) to connect to your sound system. This option works well for older audio setups that don’t support HDMI or optical. If your TV has RCA audio out (red and white ports), you can use a RCA to optical converter. This device will convert the RCA signal to optical, allowing you to use an optical cable to connect to your sound system. If your TV doesn't have any suitable audio out ports, a Bluetooth transmitter can be connected to your TV’s headphone jack or RCA output, and you can stream audio to Bluetooth-enabled speakers or soundbars. Once you identify what ports are available on your older TV, you'll have a better idea of which cable or adapter to use. If you're still unsure which option works best for your setup, feel free to reach out to us via private message on social media @LGUSSupport, and we’ll be happy to assist further. ^Juvy
