QuestionCan this Dryer be Vented? Does it take longer to Dry clothes when it isn't Vented? thanks

- Answer A ventless dryer works differently than a conventional one. While there is no vent hose hook up, the dryer requires good airflow like all heat transfer devices. I would say it does take longer to dry clothes, but believe they are more energy efficient than conventional dryers which exhausts heat thru the vent. I wouldn't recommend a ventless heater if you have an existing vent, but it works good for me in my condo without one.

QuestionMy dryer works great, but there is never any water in the collection tank, nor do I see any leaks. I've done about three loads of laundry so far with nicely dried clothes, but no water collected. Is this normal? If not, what could the issue be?

- Answer All depend what I am drying, towels release full tank of water as well as the bed sheets. I normally dry small loads at a time but always collect good amount. They probably connected the hose the goes directly to the drainage and you don’t have to drain the tank. Which I regret not doing. The tank get hot with the water collected. Don’t seem to be any other logical explanation.

QuestionWant delivery and installation but the installation parameters require a vent kit? Considering this is a ventless electric dryer I don't see why I would need to purchase a vent kit. Local Best Buy refuses to pick up the phone.

- Answer I didn't need the vent kit for installation, all i bought was the cord because it didnt come with one.

QuestionWe watched a Best Buy video that recommended 6" of clearance behind the washer/dryer. Was this intended for a vented unit? We are purchasing a ventless LG - 4.2 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Compact Electric Dryer - Model:DLEC888W. How much clearance is required?

- Answer We recommend having 1-2" of clearance just to prevent vibrations against nearby items. ^CP

QuestionI keep hearing that the LG ventless dryer throws off a lot of heat and moisture/ humidity. Would a dehumidifier unit help take the moisture out of the room ?

- Answer While the unit does create some humidity it is not that bad. Yes,a small dehumidifier will help but not really necessary. If it's in a small room suggest you install a louvre door to help circulation which helped a great deal. Also suggest you bypass the water going into the collection pan which you have to empty out every cycle and connect the hose into the washer drain. Overall it's a decent unit for a ventless. Good luck.

- Answer Dani I purchased the washer and dryer set and the stacking is fine. But, LG warns not to stack the dryer on any non-LG machine, indicting the warranty would be voided.

QuestionDoes the ventless dryer need to be stacked onto the washer or have to be side by side in order to work properly? I have a small apartment and I can fit the LG washer where the plumbing hookups are but won’t be able to stack the dryer nor next to it.

- Answer The LG 4.2 cu.ft. Compact Electric Condensing Front Load Dryer, Model # DLEC888W has a width of 24" and it can only be stacked onto its compatible LG Front Load Washer, the LG 2.3 cu. ft. Capacity 24” Compact Front Load Washer w/ NFC Tag On, Model # WM1388HW which also has a 24". The Stacking Kit for both is an included accessory with the dryer. The unit can also be used beside the washer if needed. ^CP

- Answer You don’t vent the machine in anyway. What you do is empty the reservoir where the water removed from the clothing in the dryer is collected. You can have the dryer connected to a hose (provided w the dryer) to a drain. Then u don’t have to empty the reservoir.

It does not have to be stacked and can be placed side-by-side with a washer as a standalone unit. It comes with an included Stacking Kit that can only be used to stack it on the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 2.3 cu. ft. Capacity 24” Compact Front Load Washer w/ NFC Tag On, Model # WM1388HW, but you can place it side-by-side with any washer....^IFV

- Answer That will depend on when your building was built and on what your local codes and ordinances are. The wiring and grounding of the LG 4.2 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Compact Electric Dryer, Model # DLEC888W must conform to the latest edition of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70 and all applicable local regulations. It has its own terminal block that must be connected to a separate 240 VAC, 60-Hertz,single-phase circuit, fused at 30 amperes (the circuit must be fused on both sides of the line.) The power cord (pigtail) connection between wall receptacle and dryer terminal block IS NOT supplied with dryer. Type of pigtail and gauge of wire must conform to local code or in their absence, to the latest edition of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70. A 4-wire connection is required for all mobile and manufactured home installations, as well as all new construction after January 1, 1996. A 4-wire connection must be used where local codes do not permit grounding through the neutral wire. lf your local codes or ordinances do not allow the use of a 3 wire connection, or you are installing your dryer in a mobile home, you must use a 4-wire connection. If your home has a 4-wire receptacle (NEMA type 14-30R) you will be using a UL listed, 120/240 volt minimum, 30amp, dryer power supply cord. If your home has a 3-wire receptacle (NEMA type 10-30R), you will be using a a UL listed, 120/240 volt minimum, 30amp, dryer power supply cord...^IFV

- Answer The dryer requires a 240 Volt 30 amp circuit. You can outfit it with a 4-wire or 3-wire cord. A cord is not included with the dryer.

- Answer Hi Janie. A washing machine can never be stacked onto a dryer, you can only stack the dryer on top of the washing machine. The LG 4.2 cu.ft. Compact Electric Condensing Front Load Dryer, Model # DLEC888W can be stacked onto its matching LG 2.3 cu.ft. Compact All-In-One Washer/Dryer, Model # WM3488HW using the stacking kit that comes as an included accessory with the dryer. The stacking kit does not add anything to the height of the stacked units, and since both units have a height of 33 1/2", the overall height will be their combined heights, 67"...^IFV
