We bought an LG 50 Smart TV about a month ago. Hubby and I were concerned because it was very wobbly and unstable. Tonight, for no reason, it toppled over and smashed on the floor. Now, we have no TV, and won't be able to get another one until next month. I've had LG TV's before and never had a problem. We are very upset and dissatisfied with this purchase.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The feet that come with the tv are garbage. Yesterday for no reason at all they cracked and almost sent my tv crashing to the floor. Does lg provide new feet at no cost to the customer that already spent a ton on your horribly designed product. I shouldn't have to buy wall mounts or straps. If they are needed they should come with the product. An I shouldn't have to spend 25 dollars on new feet plus 9 to have them shipped. From day one I knew the tiny feet that come with this tv would be a problem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had a hard time with getting the legs stable too. I was afraid of breaking the plastic fittings by overtightening the screws. As such, it was wobbly. I finally cranked down on the screws harder than I would have thought advisable, and thought if I break them, oh well, it's not stable anyway. After, FIRMLY tightening the screws, the legs were stable. However, I think that this design of TV is best either mounted to wall or directly to a TV shelf. The instructions showed how, but it requires additional hardware, and I haven't done it yet. I don't have any children or pets in my home. If I did, I would be afraid of it toppling off the table I have it set on if the table were to be bumped into. It's not that the legs aren't strong, it's that they are not wide enough to provide a stable base if jarred.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. These legs are junk. Had to order a universal base. Last night we noticed our 55” tv was tilting forward. Upon investigation we saw the front section of both legs were cracked and ready to give way. We super glued some plastic supports on either side . Hopefully lasts a week til the base arrives
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The instructions are pictorial, only. So, that makes it confusing, especially when you don’t see the arrows to lock the legs. Locking the legs in place is key before putting in the screws. It’s a shame that lg can’t mention this on here in their response. Is it a secret? Their response was worthless. It’s hard enough seeing the arrows as they are simply raised areas on the same plastic. Anyway, after twisting the legs in place, the tv will be stable after being screwed down.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Had the very same problem with these unstable, wobbly legs since day one. Your best solution is to either mount on a wall or buy a universal TV Stand with the tempered glass base. Most are less than 30$ and less than 30 min to assemble and have peace of mind.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same problem. Fixed it without much stress. The problem is the holes are not threaded very well. For the first time , just try tightening the screw in the hole without placing the stand. See how deep it goes inside. Now the threads are set, try this now with the stand in place. Enjoy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine didn’t even come with the mounting points built in to the tv , I bought two and one had the threads and the other didn’t and I never noticed just thought they were cheap , and it ended falling a year later and was out of manufacture warranty I would never buy again
