A:AnswerHello Rujoota,
Thank you for your inquiry.
This topic can be confusing with all the terminology being thrown around, but one thing to keep in mind is that your 49" LG 2160p, 120Hz, Smart, 3D, LED HDTV, Model # 49UB8500 has a native resolution of 2160p (i.e. 3840 X 2160) or what is commonly known as 4K which is 8 million more pixels than current 1080p TVs. More pixels means more information. More information means sharper pictures.
If you recall, we made a similar jump going from Standard TV at 480p to current 1080p High Definition TVs which meant going from a small screen to a larger screen.
So what happens when you watch 720p or 1080p on a native 2160p resolution screen? The truth is you'll only be able to see the resolution difference on a 4K set if you're watching 4K content through it or if you're sitting close enough. In order to see all the detail or the pixels of a 4K set you would have to be sitting close to the screen because as you move away from it, at a certain distance, your eyeballs won't be able to squeeze any more detail out of a 4K image than a 1080 one.
The ability to get up close to the screen without the image breaking down is one of the most intoxicating things about 4K. Sitting closer allows the same sized screen to fill more of your visual field, which yields greater immersion.
The other thing about your 49UB8500 is that it has a 4K Resolution Upscaler chip built-into it that takes 720p/1080p content and upscales it to the native 2160p resolution. The result should be a better and sharper picture, but then broadcast content also has a big impact on the picture you see depending on how much compression its undergone and how it is streamed to you!
If you want the absolute best TV you can get right now and don't mind paying a premium for it, it's a 4K set. If you're buying from one of the top tier manufacturers, you're going to get a good product that's reasonably future-proofed!....IFV

To be honest, I am not familiar with the Standard Charter Communications routers! If I had some specifications for it would help, but I assuming that Charter Communications is a service that provided you the router so you would be better of cIFVontacting them to ask them if their routers are adequate enough for TV use!
The 49" Class (48-1/2" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 3D - 4K Ultra HD TV , Model # 49UB8500 will work with most routers but if you intend to stream movies, videos etc., then you may want to look into getting a dual band router and the speed will need to probably be around 15Mbps for stutter free HD Video, but your service provider can let you know what they have to offer!...

Although the LG - 49" Class (48-1/2" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 3D - 4K Ultra HD TV, Model # 49UB8500 has dual voltage (100V ~ 240V, 50/60Hz), you will not be able to view local TV Broadcasts in India because India uses the PAL Video Broadcast system and this TV only receives NTSC Video Broadcast signals.
