- Answer The CL code on the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 5.0 Cu. Ft. 8-Cycle Top-Loading Washer with 6Motion™ Technology - White, Model # WT7300CW is the 'Control Lock' function that prevents anyone from changing cycles or operating the appliance and can prevent children from changing cycles or operating the machine. The feature does not lock the lid (door). Once the Control Lock is set, it must be deactivated before any controls, except the Powerbutton, can be used. Once the washer has shut off, the Power button will allow the machine to be turned on, but the controls will still be locked. Press and hold the Signal button for 3 seconds to activate or deactivate Control Lock. Once the controls are locked, they must be manually unlocked to restore operation...^IFV

- Answer There is not a limit to the number of loads you can do. To Get the Best Results From a HE Top Load Washer: >>Always use a laundry detergent with the HE label. These products are formulated to create fewer suds which is important since so much less water is used. More is not better when there is less water in the mix. Most loads only require one to two teaspoons of HE liquid laundry detergent or one single-dose pack. If you do not use the automatic detergent dispensers, place the detergent in the bottom of the drum BEFORE you add your dirty clothes. All single dose laundry packs must be placed in the bottom of the washer - never the dispenser. This will give the detergent the longest amount of time in the water to help get your clothes clean. >>When you load a HE top load washer, do not pile the clothes in the center. Evenly distribute the dirty clothes around the edges of the wash plate. This will help balance the load more quickly and speed the wash cycle. Load clothes loosely, and do not load clothes over the maximum guideline on the tub. Clothes need room to circulate in order to get clean. QuestionWhat cycle do I choose to wash small throw rugs? Nothing is listed in the manual for small throw rugs. How many can I wash at once?

QuestionWhat is the distance from to door hinge to the back of the machine? I have a low shelf that protrudes 13 inches so I am trying to figure out how far the washer would have to be from the back wall so that the door could open fully.

- Answer The distance from the back of the machine to the lid hinge is about 10 inches. Note that when the lid is fully open, it is not vertical but leaning towards the back of the machine by a few degrees. So you would probably have to move the machine about 4 inches or so from the back wall so the lid can open fully.

- Answer You can buy washer tabs made especially for cleaning interior or you can use a vinegar solution! The stainless steel tub stays clean if you use the tub clean cycle, periodically!

QuestionWhy did LG make this washer so complicated to use? I considered purchasing this washer but I don't want to play with it like a child on their cell phone all day. A washer is supposed to wash clothes. I don't need a toy, computer, or phone. I need a washer

- Answer There are some basic settings and you can ignore the rest. It takes 2 minutes to figure out the panel and settings. Then decide what you like and simply stick with them. Its like a calculator with sine and co sine and square root. But you can just add and subtract if you wish.

QuestionI have 31.5 inches in depth from the back wall to the front. The washer/dryer will be in a closet with two accordion doors. Will this be enough depth to fit this washer and dryer including hoses and venting and still being able to close the doors?

- Answer The depth of the washer is 28-3/8". To ensure sufficient clearance for water lines, the drain line and airflow, allow minimum clearances of at least 1" at the sides and 4" behind the unit. Be sure to allow for wall, door, or floor moldings that may increase the required clearances. ^Daphane

- Answer Which washing cycle are you using to wash your comforter in the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 5.0 Cu. Ft. 8-Cycle Top-Loading Washer with 6Motion™ Technology - Graphite Steel, Model # WT7300CW? Using the Water Plus will not help to cover it with water and once the washer reaches its maximum water level, the water plus will have no effect. Your comforter may be too buoyant and an extra-bulky down comforter that may require you to take it to a laundromat instead where double- and triple-load machines handle the plump bedding better. The Bedding cycle on the washer should be used for buoyant or nonabsorbent items such as pillows or comforters. The comforter should be loosely stuffed into the washer and still feel fluffy—not firmly packed—to the touch. Also, make sure you have a surplus of space at the top of the basin (about 20 percent from the top) so the entire comforter gets covered by water during the wash cycle. If you have to cram the fabric into the machine, it’s too bulky for at-home laundry treatment; take it to a laundromat instead...^IFV

QuestionMy LG uploader leaves lint streaks on washed clothing. Is there a lint filter in the machine? How might one reduce lint accumulation/deposit from the washing process?

- Answer Be sure to wash dark clothes with other dark clothes. Do not overload the tub. Make sure clothes are moving around in tub during cycles. Do not use too much detergent. You might want to add the Extra Rinse cycle to the cycle you are using to see if that helps. I do believe that there are filters on the hoses that attach to the back of the machine. Remove the hoses and rinse the filters. What a difference this process can make when the filters are not clogged and enough water is being dispensed.

QuestionHow tall is it with the lid open and how far from the back of the machine does the lid hinge? We have overhead cabinets at 53 inches from the floor that stick out about 13 inches from the wall.

- Answer The lid hinge is about 5 inches from back of unit. With lid lifted to its full height it stands at 90 degrees and from floor to top of lid is 57 1/2 inches. If opened to 53 inches, you could still load/unload but door will want to close on you- but it could work. Just tight.
