“Does the digital optical port support Dolby Atmos? I would rather not use ARC if possible”

• No, there is not enough bandwidth for atmos through optical. ARC was a main reason I returned the unit I bought. It was having issues with my LG OLED. Go figure.

• Hey there, Hope you had this figured out. If not then, the answer to your question is, no. Optical port will not support Dolby Atmos. I did fair bit of research when I got this TV and learned optical cable cannot output full HD audio. HDMI does full HD (lossless) sound with optical is (lossy). So sound quality is lessen when using optical, HDMI support full HD. Plus when you have everything hooked up right you will see the sound bar display read "Dolby Atmos" when a compatible content is played.

• I don't believe it does. I didn't in my situation anyways. My setup included and LG OLED E6 and an Xbox ONE S feeding the sound bar. Only way to get Atmos was over HDMI.

• No, Atmos is not supported over optical. Also, I am using this with an LG C7 OLED and it *rocks*! Unsure why previous poster returned his unit. His loss!
