No, there is not enough bandwidth for atmos through optical. ARC was a main reason I returned the unit I bought. It was having issues with my LG OLED. Go figure.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hey there, Hope you had this figured out. If not then, the answer to your question is, no. Optical port will not support Dolby Atmos. I did fair bit of research when I got this TV and learned optical cable cannot output full HD audio. HDMI does full HD (lossless) sound with optical is (lossy). So sound quality is lessen when using optical, HDMI support full HD. Plus when you have everything hooked up right you will see the sound bar display read "Dolby Atmos" when a compatible content is played.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Dolby Atmos is only through the HDMI ARC Port.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't believe it does. I didn't in my situation anyways. My setup included and LG OLED E6 and an Xbox ONE S feeding the sound bar. Only way to get Atmos was over HDMI.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No Atmos only possible with HDMI.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, Atmos is not supported over optical. Also, I am using this with an LG C7 OLED and it *rocks*! Unsure why previous poster returned his unit. His loss!
