Hi Scentsitive, the smell did eventually go away for the most part. There is still a slight residual smell that I only notice if I'm thinking about it. But it's nothing like it was when I first got it. It took several washes to dissipate. Wish they didn't use any chemicals!

Please try again later.It is normal for new washers to emit some type of smell which usually dissipates after a few washes, but from what you are describing, it may not be normal for the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 5.2 cu. ft. Mega Capacity Top Load Washer with TurboWash® Technology, Model # WT7600HKA to emit such a strong smell. You can try mixing a 1/4 cup of baking soda with a 1/4 cup of water. Add this solution to your machine's detergent container. Pour 2 cups of white vinegar into the drum and run a normal load at high heat.
