The steam generator in LG's washing machine heats water to 100°C, making it hot enough to eliminate bacteria and even allergens from pet hairs, dead skin cells and mold. ^Daphane
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Steam is what water turns to at 212ºF/100ºC, although slightly lower at higher altitudes. It can get higher but require pressure to do so such as what happens in a pressure cooker. There is no steam at 150ºF and steam at 150ºC would be under high pressure...not found in a washing machine. This is why the lid locks during cycles.
