  • QuestionIs the griddle cast iron? Does it need to be seasoned before using?

    Asked by TTWW.

    • Answer Hello there. We understand your inquiry about the griddle on your LG LSGL5833F slide-in range. Your range comes with a removable, heavy-duty cast-iron griddle that’s designed for even heat distribution across the cooktop. It arrives from the factory pre-seasoned, so you can use it right away—no additional seasoning is required before your first cook. For best performance and to maintain the seasoning layer: Before first use: Remove the griddle and wash it by hand with warm water and mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Lightly oil before cooking: After drying, use a paper towel to rub a thin coat of your preferred cooking oil over the griddle surface. Ongoing care: After each use, let it cool, hand-wash (no dishwasher), dry fully, and apply a light oil coating. This helps prevent food from sticking and preserves the seasoning. Pro tip: Preheat the griddle on medium heat for 5–7 minutes before adding food. This ensures even heat across the surface and gives you those perfect sear marks. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-5-8-cu-ft-smart-slide-in-gas-true-convection-range-with-easyclean-and-air-fry-printproof-stainless-steel/6469238.p?skuId=6469238 If you have any further questions or need step-by-step guidance, please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport and our team will be more than happy to explore possible solutions. • QuestionWhat are the knobs made of? My current LG range has stainless looking plastic knobs in which all of the numbers easily wore off, and to replace them at $60 per know is ridiculous!

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hello there! Thank you for your inquiry about the LG LSGL5833D Slide-In Gas Range. We understand your concern regarding the durability of the knobs. The knobs on this range feature a stainless steel appearance and are weighted, offering a more premium feel compared to plastic options. However, while the appearance is stainless steel, the material is actually designed to provide a high-end look without the same wear issues that plastic knobs may experience over time. We recommend cleaning the knobs gently with a soft cloth and avoiding abrasive cleaners to maintain their appearance and longevity. If you're noticing significant wear, it might be helpful to check for any available knob replacement options that better suit your needs. For more assistance or if you would like to explore replacement options, please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport, and our team will be happy to help you find the best solution. https://www.lg.com/us/cooking-appliances/lg-lsgl5833d-slide-in-gas-range#pdp_specs We appreciate your feedback and look forward to assisting you further! —Renzo

  • QuestionI saw under features that there is a "WARNING: Cancer and reproductive harm". Can you tell me more about that? Is it fumes-based or that the center grill part has a coating on it associated with cancer & what kind? It gives no further info than prop 65

    Asked by Nicey.

    • Answer Hello there, Nicey. Thank you for your question. The "WARNING: Cancer and reproductive harm" label you're seeing on the LG LSGL5833F Slide-In Gas Range is due to Proposition 65, which is a California regulation requiring businesses to inform consumers about potential exposures to chemicals that the state has identified as harmful. For this specific model, the warning is likely related to the potential exposure to certain chemicals in the product's components, such as burner parts or coatings. In many cases, this warning applies to the cooking surface, and while it is related to exposure to chemicals that could be harmful over time (typically from fumes or residual materials), it’s important to note that these warnings are very general. It does not necessarily mean that the product is unsafe to use under normal conditions. As for your concern about the center grill, the warning is not specifically tied to that component, but it could be related to general cooking emissions, which might involve substances such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, or particulate matter that are produced when cooking. This is more of a precautionary measure, and the fumes from cooking are often the primary cause of concern in these warnings. https://www.lg.com/us/cooking-appliances/lg-lsgl5833f-slide-in-gas-range#pdp_specs If you have further concerns about safety or exposure, we recommend reviewing the Owner's Manual and contacting LGUSSupport for more detailed information. We understand your need for clarity and are happy to assist further. Please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport, and our team will be glad to help. —Renzo

  • Questiondoes this stove come with the middle grate as well as the griddle ?

    Asked by CAR1.

    • Answer yes

      Answered by Syder

  • QuestionAfter installation, there is a 3 inch gap between the top back of the range and the wall. Is this normal? Not the greatest look, and creates the opportunity for things to fall behind the oven.

    Asked by Jim.

    • Answer There's a metal grill the attaches to the back of the stove to fill the gap, but in our kitchen, the gas shutoff valve sticks out higher than the indentation on the back of the stove that is intended to allow the stove to fit tighter to the wall. I think the building standards for the positioning of the gas cock might have changed over time. Our condo was built 40 years ago and codes have changed.
