The Dish remote control can be programmed to control your new tv. It’s in the instruction Manuel, or call Dish network. They’re usually pretty good about walking you step by step to get the Dish remote to change to your new tv. The question about how to watch a tape using your VCR, you probably need get a RCA/Video cable-HDMI adapter. Then you will be able to plug the RCA/Video cable to your VCR to the adapter and then the HDMI end cable from the adapter to the new TV. I purchased one from Amazon for a relatively good price. The TV is able to access YouTube as well internet access. The WiFi at the house is good. So, the TV does a good job at accessing YouTube and surf the web. The TV does a good job in downloading many TV apps.
